Nordby Upholstery was started in Peqout Lakes MN in 1952 by Carl Nordby. In 1971 Harriet and Leroy Nordby purchased the business and owned it up until 1982 when their son Louis Nordby purchased it from them. Louis grew up in the business and worked in the field for many years. In 1984, he married his wife Debbie and together, they owned and operated Nordby Upholstery and Canvas, upholding the quality and detail that Nordby Upholstery products is known for. Up to this day, they continue to carry on the legacy that Carl Nordby started over five decades ago.
We are located at the heart of the Brainerd Lakes Country, and are happy to serve clients in Walker, Crosslake, Nisswa, Whitefish Chain of Lakes, and other surrounding areas, by providing top quality upholstery products like custom boat interiors and custom boat covers .
Nordby's started out doing furniture, porch curtains and awnings . Louis changed the focus of the business more towards marine upholstery and canvas . Louis saw and recognized the demand for custom marine upholstery due to his life long exposure with boats. Lou has strong a passion for antique and classic wood boats, and it totally made sense to provide restoration services for these boats interiors. Classic boats are a significant investment, it would be a worthwhile to protect them with our custom boat covers as well.
